Commercial Benefits - Tax and Rebates

Do you want to write a check every month that goes down a hole, or do you want it to count towards future free energy in a Solar Energy System?

After 7, 10, 15 or 20 years your company can buy the equipment for as little as $1 and have free energy for the next 25 years.

The following incentives are currently applied to those states which offer the large incentives:

Federal Incentive for Commercials:
Beside the state incentive, the following federal incentive also applies to commercial solar system owners: These Credits are set to expire at the end of 2008

• One time Federal Tax credit of 30% with no cap,
• 5 years Accelerated Capital Depreciation,
• Exemption from property tax increase.

California State Incentive for Commercials: http://www.sgip-ca.com/
The following two choices of incentive apply to California commercial property owners by the three state municipalities of SCE (Southern California Edison), SDG&E (San Diego Gas & Electric) and PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric):

Expected Performance Based Buy-down (EPBB) Incentives:
As of 5/14/2008, the EPBB pays a one-time up-front incentive of $1.55 per AC watt of the system purchase price.

Performance Based Incentives (PBI):
The PBI payment will be made on a monthly basis over the 5-years period. These payments will be $0.22 per-kWh of the actual energy (kWh) produced by the system.

Please note that the above rebates are subject to drop every six months. But as soon as the incentives are filed, the commercial property owners are locked-in with the current rate. All system must be interconnected through participating utilities.

City Based Rebates are in Lieu of the State Rebates, but do not include Federal Tax Credits

Riverside Commercial Rebates, for example: The non-residential photovoltaic (PV) rebate program provides financial incentives for Riverside Public Utilities' business customers to install qualifying PV systems on their facilities.

The rebate amount is $3.00 per watt AC and cannot exceed 50% of the total system cost. Specific dollar limits for the incentive also apply based on the rate schedule of the applicant. Incentives for customers on the flat rate (E200) are capped at $50,000. The incentive cap for demand customers (E20D) is $200,000, and the cap for large customers (TOU) is $500,000.
