Nonprofits and Public Facilities - Tax Credits, Rebates and Financial Assistance Rebates and tax credits currently equal nearly 50% of the cost of your solar system for residential and commercial. These credits can be used by a third party if applicable (ie corporation buys solar and donates it to a non-profit). Non-Profits and Public Facilities often can’t take advantage of tax credits, but are able to obtain other favorable incentives and loan programs. Take advantage of these incentives as well as all the other available benefits of solar energy systems: Solar energy is one of our state's most abundant - and least utilized - renewable resources. Under the California Solar Initiative, tax-exempt agencies like schools are eligible for an up-front cash incentive of $2.30/watt, and a performance-based incentive of up to $0.32/kilowatt hour (kWh) for installed solar PV systems. Maximum loan amount per application is 3 million dollars As Low as 3.95 Percent Loans Now Available!! The California Energy Commission's Energy Efficiency Financing Program provides financing for schools, hospitals and local governments through low-interest loans for feasibility studies and the installation of energy-saving measures.
